The Weekly Pic's

Ken & I can't believe all that is available for kids these days. We hope to keep Elizabeth active and involved in life as she grows. For now, here she is at her "My Gym" which is about 2,000 sq. ft. of kids mats and jungle gyms especially for the young. The colors are all primary and the apparatuses are all cushioned. Good thing because she is still a little clumsy! This is Izzy in a rolling tunnel. Most kids climb right through but Elizabeth loves to stop and roll around...

The dominant photo of the week. She loves to rock and has found a new way to "ride" her rocking horse. After we took this series, she started doing this with "no hands". She can only stay on for a few seconds but she laughs the entire time.

Here she is laughing at her mom when I told her to "be careful". Exactly how many times will I say this in the next 17 years???? A better question, "will she listen?"

Yes....she finally fell off. She was mad, not hurt. Yes, I stopped to take the picture instead of rushing to her side but her dad was in the room in case she needed help. Actually, she was back up and ready to go again in seconds....that is just the way she is.

Next are the weekly videos. There are 5 of them this week. Yes, she is our first kid and she really was the ham this week. If you don't have time to watch them all, please skip to the last one first, entitled, "I feel like dancing". It's very cute.

As for Ken & I, we had a great week. The baby is doing great, work could not be better in this market, we completed our travel plans for Thanksgiving and we had our new pastor and family over for dinner. Life here is good...

Ken's news, he is traveling to Virginia this week to see the Virginia Tech and Boston College game with his two brothers. I call it the "Bates' Oktoberfest 2007". He really deserves it as he is a great husband, father and employer. A lot of responsibility every day!!

Karen's excited because Military Spouse Magazine is going monthly as of January 2008. Even better, it will be in the commissaries now and at the checkout stands!! Lots more exposure. And the best news...she is not super confident in her writing yet (this is all so new) but she got referred by her current writing job to "GI Jobs" and they love her work. So now she is syndicated and will be in both magazines, every month, in 2008. It's a full two-page spread in each one. What a fabulous opportunity! It's a good life....KMB
